When the resolution was passed they said that they knew that they could not stop the building of the casino all on their own, but that they had hoped that other city councils would follow their example and stop the building of the casino.

It is difficult to foresee what the outcome of this matter will be. Certainly most cities welcome the thought of the great money that the casino bring in to them, but it is doubtful that this will be the case with this one. It seems that the people of Oakland will be happy to accept this new casino. They just do not want the unwelcome elements that a casino is liable to bring into their city.
